Blues are a blue-tinted subrace of goblins, gifted in the psionic arts and, collectively, relatively experienced in traveling the planes.

Blues mature more quickly than humans, as one would expect of their goblin blood, but can live on as wizened elderly individuals for decades on end—far longer than their relatives.

Male blues often have long, stringy beards that grow just on the tip of their chins.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Most blues live on the demiplane Etsuchiyemi, an island of sanity in the midst of the Far Realm, where they live in a strongly monastic culture. The order and mental strength afforded them by their traditions allow them to maintain and defend their homeland from its hostile surroundings.   A number of blues do live on the Prime Plane. Some live in the monasteries of Quoon, often in the role of teachers or wise men. Others eschew their race's monastic tradition and live among ordinary goblins, often functioning as experts in arcana for their tribe. This latter kind of bluegoblin is, strangely, often ostracized by their fellow goblins. This is even more the case in goblin tribes with strong hobgoblin or bugbear influences, so blues sharing territory with these larger goblinoids are rare.

Alignment. Blues tend toward lawful neutral, a byproduct of their intense mental discipline.   Mental Discipline. You have advantage on saving throws against the charmed and frightened conditions.   Attentiveness. You gain proficiency in either the Insight skill or the Perception skill.   Psionics. You know the Mage Hand cantrip, and the hand is invisible when you cast the cantrip with this trait.   When you reach 3rd level, you can cast Shield once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Detect Thoughts spell once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.   Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells. When you cast them with this trait, they don't require components.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Goblin and one other language of your choice. (Most likely a common tongue or Deep Speech.)
