Humanity is widespread throughout much of the Firmwold, the dominant species of most of the world's civilized nations. It is also starting to spread to settlements on the eastern shore of Damaset.

History

Humans were first created by aboleth just after The Cataclysm, circa 2512 Mythic Age. Although not aquatic when not under aboleth influence, they were first formed in the aboleth's offshore lairs beneath the surface. Plotting the creation of their new slaves and forming their initial assault army (letting it grow to maturity) lasted 19 years.
In 2495 M.A., the other sapient races of the Firmwold (mostly dwarves, elves, orcs, and goblinoids) began to be overrun by this new foe, armed with adamantine weapons forged from underwater meteor pieces and backed by their aboleth masters. Without armies of giants to defend them (as the dwarves had used in a past era to fend off the aboleth), the war went badly for the surface races for 316 years, although all of the major races managed to avoid extinction.
Gradually as the humans bred and multiplied, the aboleth lost control over many of them. Overestimating their creations' servility, they didn't worry about this fact, figuring that the uncontrolled humans would either continue invading inland out of inertia and bloodthirst, or would settle and become docile.

Numerous misunderstandings and territory disputes occurred over the next two centuries between the humans and their nonhuman comrades, but eventually territories were decided and peace more or less settled over the land.
