Gregori is a terribly ambitious man hailing from a Mevnatan merchant family, who decided to relocate his entire family and business to the wealthier parts of Faeneril after a business deal went south. He chose to move to Faeneril because of the country's flourishing welfare.
Having worked hard his entire life, he's not to rest as he gets older. He's still the head of the Maldovan family and he will continue being so until the day he dies. He trusts nobody and refuses to let anyone take any decisions on their own when it comes to their business and, more importantly, their wealth.

Has had two wives. The first one he loved deeply, but she passed away after 6 years of them being married. She gave him a daughter, Uljana Maldovan, who is his favorite among his own kin. Since Uljana is like a female version of himself, he had grand hopes for her firstborn son Kostja Maldovan. To his dismay, Kostja turned into the black sheep of the family. Their relationship is very strained because of Gregori's disappointment in Kostja.
