Minotaur

A proud peoples, the Minotaur largely keep to themselves on the continental stage, preferring to roam their Herdsteads in peace. However, unauthorized "visitors" are strongly discouraged from trespassing.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A humanoid species, Minotaurs have the lower half of a human, with a bovine torso and head. The neck vertebrae are more similar to those of a human, although the muscles of the neck and upper back are far larger and stronger to support the horned head. These horns extend from above and outside of the brow ridges, similar to Taurine cattle, although with certain differences. The horns of an adult Minotaur can be a third of a meter in length, adding significantly to their height. Both cows and bulls have horns, although the bulls' are slightly larger and lack in a spiral twist common in the cows.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The musculature of minotaurs is stressed about 30% higher than an average human, which when combined with their bulk, makes them exceptionally strong. Their eyesight is better at distance, and poor at night. This farsightedness gives them a distinct advantage at range, whether that is at glaive length or bowshot, but also makes hand-to-hand combat difficult. Their sense of smell is acute.
