Groriden (GROH-ree-den)
This city never sees the page in my series. It is only relevant for references and the naming of the Iden Road in Chailara, which does see the page... I think. Maybe not, if I ax the prologue.
Groriden quickly made a name for itself in the later Iron Age due to their experimentation with iron and steel. Best metal alloys quickly meant the best smiths were congregating there, too. They've kept their steel secrets to themselves with a magical oath forbidding someone who learns it to share it with others, it's so special.Demographics
Almost entirely Grodr. While outsiders are tolerated, mostly the Grodr prefer to keep to themselves. They'll accept travelers and buyers for their products, but that's about it.
Merchants are friends here, as are metal workers of all kinds. The production and experimentation with metals and metal products is what keeps revenue flowing into the city.
Government
King and Queen live here, rule country and city, but more focused on country. The hoden (like a city magistrate) does most of the daily running of the city, though the King is often requested when there are meetings between the hoden and important city officials like the head of the smith's guild, or someone with enough sway to hold some kind of power the hoden can't counter.
Infrastructure
Forges. Furnaces. If it might help them make better iron or steel, they've built it.
Districts
Merchant city? Royalty, then merchant council or something to that effect?
Guilds and Factions
Smith's Guild... if the smiths aren't happy, the city isn't happy.
Port, so... fishing? harbormaster?
