The Tribes of Colorado

THE TRIBES OF THE ROCKY SPINE: Unconquered and Savage

  • The Long Teeth: The Long Teeth, or Long Tooths, emerged from those people trapped within the mountain ranges of Colorado who also survived the blasts and radiation. Their need for food led to a... Vicious cycle of cannabalism, and now the Long Teeth are half mad sociopaths who sharpen their teeth and dine on near anything that bleeds. Their focus on sieging Boulder Dome in recent years has actually been a boon to surronding communities.

  • The Stone Eagles: The result of survivors also trapped in the mountains, these were rather hunters and hikers who soon found company in Arapaho natives fleeing from the north. Unlike the hostile Long Teeth, the Stone Eagles are more mysterious and cautious as they prefer to stick behind their collection of bolt action pipe guns and hunting rifles at long range.

  • The High 70s: When Conner Mac Earlee, hiker and history professor with a fascination of medieval Ireland, found himself stuck in the Colorado mountains the day the bombs dropped... He took charge of those he could find from a series of small caves and isolated bunkers. Isolated from the blasts and able to weather the radiation, Conner managed to rally his survivors behind him as their 'King'. And reshaped them along medieval Celtic lines. The High 70s remained ever since, growing from their 'castle' of Monument of Kings. And since the Legion massacre of the Iron Rivers in 2253, the High 70s have been a constant threat to Legion supply routes. If the Legion are Romans, the High 70s are pissed off Celts(medieval style). Under King Caoimhe II Mac Earl as of 2295

THE TRIBES OF THE WILDS: A land too vicious to journey through

  • The Mesas Tribe: Born out of the miners and loggers who fled Nucla and the hellish mining conditions before the war as a general strike, the tribe is well regarded in the region for their digging and mining skills. Living in Piñon Mesa over Route 141, the Mesas are friends with the Gateway Republic.

  • The Spruce Lords: A little known tribe in the Uncompahgre Forests that dwells deep within the forests. Excellent herbalists and gatherers, the Spruce Lords worship nature as their savior. Mostly north of Nucla. Allies with the Ghouls of Naturita.

  • Ghoul Druids of Naturita: An entire tribe of nature worshipping non-feral ghouls in the Gaslands region who live in the town of Naturita amidst the mutated forests of the Nucla Groove. Allies with the fellow nature loving Spruce Lords.

  • Plant Speakers of Egnar: Gasland tribals around the town of Egnar who have developed resistance to the spores of the region and can make a rare medicine that treats spore poisoning. Masters agriculturalists, they cultivate rich fields with a mix of wasteland-knowledge and pre-war books.

  • The Elders of the Mountain: Reside in the San Juans region, regarded as psychics and mystics who can divine the future. Wheither it is true or not, the Elders are respected and look to by many travelers... Even if they worship 'The Eternal Dark Guide’ ontop of a possible Dunwich Borers Site.
