Lazarus was a loyal king's guard of an ancient, dying race. His only goal in life was to protect his people but when the manufactorum was destroyed, he watched the last generation of his people die hopelessly. He is now the last of his kind and was lost for centuries. But then things changed. He was adopted by a royal family, because otherwise his life would've had no purpose. The royal family saw good use in the old half-human machine and used him to carry out their will.
Later he was sent to the Northern Realms to own a settlement and excude control over the nearby areas.
