Mumarians

Brief Overview

Mumarians (moo-mare-ee-ens) are a group of elves descended from the god Mumos. They rely heavily on their magick, using it every day for the simplest of tasks. They live in the town of Mageia located in the heart of the Jade Forest. This clan of elves keeps mostly to themselves.

Appearance

Mumarian elves care deeply about their appearance. Mumarians are the tallest of the elves, standing nearly an entire foot above the average human. Their strong use of magick forms a glow around their bodies. Mumarians have moderately long ears, typically pierced, and larger eyes than their Mizupollian kin. Their skin tone varies greatly within Mumarians, though usually has a bluish undertone. Their hair is fair and generally very light.

Culture and cultural heritage

Children

In Mumarian culture it is looked down upon to marry a creature that is not an elf, with exception to angels and high-ranking faeries. Mumarians value the use of magick, of which angels and high-ranking faeries are highly adept at. A few highly stringent Mumarians will have children within their own family. Like other elves, Mumarians reproduce much like humans do, with the exception that they are able to have children with creatures of the same sex or with no sex due to magick. Having children with those of the same sex or no sex is more common with Mumarians because it is easier with their high use of magick.

Secrecy

Mumarians are very secretive people. Most elves are not allowed to leave Mageia until they are well into their adulthood and visitors are rarely allowed into the village. There is a belief that they have discovered the key to magick, and they do not wish to share that key with others.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Mumarians keep their hair long, typically fashioning them in complex braids with rings of silver and gold.
