Rowan in Orlane
There is a ramshackle cottage on the far side of this small grove. On the porch is Rowan, legs crossed on the floor, meditating while Stryx perches on the edge of the cottage. She makes no indication that she perceives the approach of the group. If anyone moves to touch her, she will speak, "I did not ask you to come." She does not open her eyes.
Rowan will now interact with the group, minimally. She seems much different than the woman you befriended in Massal. She was a deeply honorable person, and while odd at times, you trusted her. She is short with the group, obviously annoyed at their presence.
Detect magic will show an aura of Enchantment around Rowan. It can be cured with Dispel Magic. Rowan will be dismissive of the party and will interact with them as little as possible. She will not stop the party from entering the house. Inside is a mess, with lots of book, scrolls, and tomes scattered around. A work bench is littered with the equipment used for brewing potions with several vials of colorful liquids. All in all it looks like the dwelling of an absent minded person. Then you see it, in the corner is slumped the dead body of an older gentleman. He has crazy gray hair and a long gray beard. He is wearing tattered gray robes that have several scorch marks on them.
If the part presses Rowan about the dead man she will explain he was the hermit Ramne, a crazy old wizard who was plotting against her god. He would not submit so she had to kill him.
If attacked, Rowan will defend herself, adding Multiattack(Any two attacks) to her stats while under Defilus' charm. Without Dispel magic, Rowan will not stop trying to undermine the party, even if subdued and bound.
Once the charm on Rowan is dispelled her memories of what she has done will flood back. She will be upset with herself over her roll in Ramne's death. She will explain that she was captured at the Golden Grain Inn and taken before the naga, Explictica Defilus. Her gaze can charm a person into unquestioning servitude. Before she was captured she had already met and befriended Ramne. He explained to her his plan for defeating Defilus, but couldn't do it on his own. Rowan was going to go to Hommlet to recruit the rest of the party yo assist, but was captured that evening. She explains that Stryx can lead the way to the naga's lair through the moors. Ramne had created a couple magic items for Rowan, a Wand of Dispel Magic and an Orb of Impenetrable Globe. She will want to entomb Ramne before leaving. Once she is ready and when the rest of the party is ready, they can head out for the dungeon. Moors of Orlane
If the party hasn't dealt with any cult members in Orlane, Rowan will suggest weakening the cults hold on Orlane before heading out. She will suggest the party hit the temple while she and Stryx take out the Golden Grain Inn. If the party agrees, the Golden Grain Inn will be on fire when the party returns from the temple.
