A society built around the discovery of Ontological Magic. Using a process which took extensive time to refine and perfect, they are able to negate aging.

Average technological level

Using a fluid charged with ontological magic which replaces their blood, these people are able to become functionally undead. The cells of the individual have a rubber-band effect on their causality, preventing the cells drifting from a chosen state. This technology does have it's limits. If the user's body drifts too far from it's set state (decapitation for example), they essentially snap this proverbial rubber band and die. This process has no impact on a person's psyche; as the brain's bioelectricity and hormones are not affected. They also cannot physically improve (gaining muscle for example), as they are not able to drift from their moment of permanence. In earlier times, when this was not perfected, those who went through this process were mentally rigid, to a certain extent they became emotionally stuck, the same way their cells were.

Common Dress code

They have no nudity taboo, as such clothing is for decoration, celebration and warmth, but not necessary for decency.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

A female cannot become pregnant after their Moment of Permanence. For this reason, a woman may not partake of this tradition until she has given birth to at least two children.

Coming of Age Rites

The Moment of Permanence is a ceremony one goes through when they have reached their peak. Up until this point, the individual is given thorough physical training to make them as fit and healthy as possible. Once they are ready, their family and friends gather in celebration. A highly trained mage drains their blood, and pours in a fluid which preserves cells.
