Gógari

Origins

Many thousands of years ago the Gógari lived in a whole other world that was, and probably still is, ruled by a creature they knew of as the Colossal. The Colossal is a self-proclaimed Father of the Muintir – his Beloved. He ruled absolutely and the Muintir loved him. Under his rule they grew in power and knowledge. They reproduced and developed amazing technologies which can really only exist there. They had no wars, no crime and no fighting because everyone followed the Colossal. They had no poverty because the Colossal provided everything they needed. A strict social structure told everyone who they were and where in society their traits and abilities were useful. What did not fit into this society he kept in a closed place: a prison. These were the Tzetzai - the Useless Ones. Those who “had nothing to give”, or so he claimed. Within this prison, these Useless Ones called themselves the Gógari – the Unheard.   Even though he called them useless, the Colossal found many uses for the Gógari. Among these uses was to experiment new technology, new practises and to test the boundaries of the race. One of the main questions he wanted answers to was: why were they so useless? So he tested them to the very limit of their strength and endurance. He tested how best to they could be killed, and then he tested how it might be possible to resurrect them.   In one of the prisons, managed by Zetzwarian, a rebellious movement began when a Gógari known as Ishis was interred there. During the lulls in their torture Ishis would sing and a peacefulness settled on the minds of any who heard her. This sparked the Dreamers who dreamt of freedom and drove Zetzwarian to seek a place for them that was like their dreams. After much research and stepping on many boundaries, Zetzwarian opened a gate and built a path to transfer the Gógari in his prison to a world (Eveller) where they could have peace. When the Colossal found out he sent his dominators to stop it. They collapsed the gate before Zetzwarian could return and a lot of Gógari were left in the prison.   Those first to step onto Eveller, and those whose powers shaped the majority of the world, were named the Dreamers: those who dreamt the world into being.   All offspring produced on Eveller identify as Gógari but there is a distinction between those descendant from the Muintir and those who were descendant wholly from the Gógari. Those descendant from Sinternal and Elakaavrin became known as Controllers. These are creatures whose identity revolves around order and keeping order is what is most important to them. They grow through destruction and decay. Those descendant from the Gógari became known as Creators. Creators thrive through the energy of life and growth.

Physical Appearance

Composed completely from The Source Gógari can appear in any form. They are metamorphic and grow into polymorphic abilities. They can have any number of limbs, heads, eyes, bodies etc. Any and all colours and colour combinations are possible. Their cores (around which they are formed) are oblong and rounded or egg-shaped, solid and black or a very dark purple.   Ultimately it can be said that Gógari are shaped by their identity. Controllers are built to assist them in their task of destruction, often monochromatic and disturbing to the senses of the Mortal Races. Creators usually take their appearance from other life in their surroundings which make them indiscernible from, for example, a bush or an animal.   While a Gógari's appearance is mostly involuntary, they are polymorphic. Many will have two or three of forms that they will utilise for different situations. For example it is difficult to communicate in sounds if one does not have some form of vocal cords, tongue and/or mouth to assist in the formation of words. When in contact with the Mortal Races they may even appear as one of them to be recognised as relevant, if they deem this to be in their favour. Creating fresh new forms from imagination is next to impossible and is, from a Gógari's point of view, useless.   Their size is determined by their power as the Source accumulates around their core. While they have the ability to shrink or grow at will this takes a lot of energy and can be experienced as uncomfortable or painful to hold for a long time. Holding to an "original" or "personal" form is a point of pride in Gógari as it expresses who, and how powerful, they are.

Morals

All Gógari work for themselves. Their lives are centred around the accumulation of power through growth. Every action they take and word they say aligns with their chosen "path" which is destined to lead them to more power. Despite this, they rarely lie and alliances are common.

Everything is returned. Help is repaid with help, and harm with harm. Depending on power levels, one party may be able to convince another to do harm in return for help and vice versa. The action taken will depend on the Paths and each party's ability to see them clearly.   Energy is essential in the use of power and is therefore a highly valued commodity. An action may be possible, it may be probable, and it may even align with their goals; but if the energy cost is too high, a Gógari may still chose not to.
