Rohrbruck

Rohrbruck was a large city on the Inselmoor and under the banner of the Kingdom of Krog. It was located along the Warden's Cross, a road that led towards Hopehold. This city was the first line of defense during the Bright Rebellion in 462 DE.   Rohrbruck was a major militaristic city where Krog's military was trained. The Kroggish military was deeply admired, and service to the crown was regarded as a high honor, no matter the position held. Those who lived in Rohrbruck were no strangers to battle, and they had a deeply ingrained warrior culture that was not seen anywhere else in Krog.

Description

As the primary defense of their country, Rohrbruck's culture and self-perceived purpose was to protect the Kingdom of Krog at all costs. Military training for officers and enlisted alike took place here. While the military held cultural significance, it also acted as a major trade hub for the country. Krog was unable to receive imports by land and instead used massive harbors for trade. Rohrbruck was the combination of both war and trade in service to the crown.   Massive stone barracks, black-iron forges, and drill yards dominated the skyline alongside towering sea walls. The city was always busy with the sounds of marching boots and the clang of blades echoing through its streets.   Beyond its martial legacy, Rohrbruck was a city of strict order, deep-rooted camaraderie, and a patriotic intensity that left little room for dissent. Citizens revered the military as both the protector and the ideal. Merchants and dockhands wore family crests and service medals with pride. In this city especially, those unfit or unwilling to serve often found life very cold and distant.

Notable Locations

Fort Canonhold

A heavily fortified structure that housed war journals, ancient tactical maps, and royal correspondence dating back to the early days of Krog. Scholars of war from across the continent sought access.

Fort Vahrenholt

Named after a very important general during the Bloody Pass War, Fort Vahrenholt was the main training grounds for the Kroggish military.

The Battered Drum

A legendary war tavern decorated with cracked shields, ancient helmets, and the tattered flags of past campaigns. Known for a drink called the "Bloodline Red". Only those who have served the crown may be served by the staff here. There was a sword in this tavern that was noted to be owned by one of the early Baer family members, the original founders of Krog.

The Iron Walk

A long avenue filled with forges, smithies, and military vendors. The scent of oil and steel is constant. Recruits lined up to buy their first swords; veterans returned to repair theirs.
