Khyaroth

Khyaroth was a lawful neutral god of glory, knowledge, law, order, pride, and war. He was an inexorable figure foretold by prophecy as the ‘Tide Turner’ (that is, he came at the height of combat, “to turn the tide” in wars of any epoch).
"Lieutenant, it is my prerogative that we fight to the last breath and overcome this. Khyaroth be on our side. Rally the men; we attack at dawn."
— A general during the Bloody Pass War

Description

In his divine form, Khyaroth stood taller than most other deities and wore dark plate armor so black that it seemed to draw the light around it, a shadow cast into a human shape. His lone eye smoldered and burned, and it could be seen even in the dimmest of battlefields, frightening some, and inspiring others. It all depended on whose side he was on, for he bore a massive flaming mace in each hand, flames that would never burn out. It was said his armor would never be dented or covered in dirt, for it reflected a majesty that was as terrifying as it was pristine.

Personality

Khyaroth was a disciplined master tactician, personifying wars' tactical components. He was stern and definitive, utterly committed to the way of battle, and enjoyed the raw environment of war. He praised the bravery of men, the keenness of their minds for thoughtful strategy, and the will to fight losing battles. He didn't care for cruelty but was harsh in his belief in the purity of combat to resolve mortal's mightiest predicaments.

Worshippers

Khyaroth’s congregation consisted of warriors, generals, tacticians, and those whose careers brought them constant contact with conflict. His shrines, largely built as fortified strongholds, contained an arsenal of arms and armor said to have been touched by the god, which could be used in service or taken into battle as a sign of blessing and leadership. His worshippers invoked a wish for strength, courage, and good sense to prevail against their enemies through superior strategy. The cult of Khyaroth consisted of martial displays, strategic games, and epics recited concerning famous battles and the fighters who waged them. Khyaroth’s followers called upon this practical, martial sobriety, encouraging its adherents to pattern their lives on their god’s merciless cunning and ruthless tenacity.

Paladin Tenets For Khyaroth

Discipline Above All
Chaos is the enemy of victory; order is its ally. Maintain discipline in all things, for a focused mine and body are the foundations of triumph.
Victory Through Strategy
The mind is a weapon sharper than any blade. Victory is not won through pure strength, but through superior strategy and planning.
Embrace the Struggle
True glory is forged in the crucible of struggle and hardship. Face every challenge head-on, for the fire of combat tempers the strongest steel.
Honor in Combat
A victory is earned, not stolen.
All Who Bear Arms Are Worthy Foes
Any person who picks up a blade is a fair and honorable adversary regardless of age, gender, background, or religion. All will fall against a paladin of Khyaroth.
Death is Not Defeat
"A warrior's death is not the end, but the beginning of their legacy. Fight with courage, for in death, your name shall endure."
