Wild Arcanum

Wild Arcanum is a addictive drug that causes a surge of magical energy to flow through your giving you a rush of energy and causing a random magical effect.   A spell caster can recover a random spell slot then a number of random effect from the wild surge magic table equal to the spell slots level will happen when you next cast a spell. if you're not a spell caster the random magical effects happen 1d6 minutes after you consume it, this is also the case if you don't cast a spell as soon as you take the drug. due to it's addictive nature if a player failed a DC 12 wisdom save after taking the drug they become addicted, addiction causes the player to seek more drugs they can fight this but every time they have to avoid taking the drug they take 1d4 physic damage if this would knock them out they instead take the drug either buying or stealing it. addiction lasts 1d6 days+ as many pills as they have taken in the last month. those who choose to give in to there addiction must consume at least 3 wild Arcanum a day regardless of if they have used any spell slots.

Manufacturing

Made from a special type of red mushroom and distilled into a bright red liquid with a sweet taste it can be put into pills, small vials or even candy but it must be consumed to take effect injection or skin contact have no effect. any brewer with the right type of mushroom could distill Wild Arcanum although the specific mushroom that is used is a well protected secret.
Access & Availability
Although illegal it is one of the easiest drugs to get your hands on if you're rich each dose can cost between 5-10 gp although many dealers give the first one free and people tend to be taught about the dangers and alot of people aren't willing to take the risk of becoming a plant.
