The Rekindling Home

The Rekindling home is located in the city of Bidbirat in the island of Menlin Refuge (though everybody refers to the island as Bidbirat). Run by The Studious order, it functions as the morgue of the city and a place to run necromancy experiments. On occasion the Clerics in charge have granted the dead a second chance at life in here, but that is not a public service that everyone can get. This place works more of a healing of the body and granting life to empty corpses more than healing of the soul or a second opportunity to make something with your life.

Purpose / Function

Experimenting on dead creatures trying to bring them to life.  The main purpose is to defeat death and make the life cycle more controlled.

Architecture

Given that Bidbirat was originally a Orc settlement, when The Studious Order tried to get the architecture to fit the surroundings.  It's a low building built out of big stones. It has a curved roof and wooden columns on the outside. On the inside, though, it's a more plain looking building, very illuminated; a very minimalist interior.  There is just a little reception inside the building and a couple offices in the back. The main structure of the building is built underground. There are long corridors that lead to laboratories and morgue rooms.

History

The Rekindling Home was built to work primarily as a morgue for the city when wizards started wondering what happened with bodies after death. For a long time that was its main function: determining cause of death and studying short-term effects of time on bodies. Then they were taken to the graveyard and that was it.  But after a while, when Necromancy wizards got more curious of how the body works and how it could be reanimated, more serious experiments started being run here. The Studious Order assigned a couple of Clerics of The Librarian and another couple of The Gravedigger to keep tabs on the necromancy experiments and tests. They were put there to run things ethically and not have any problems with The Gravedigger.  Sometimes people are brought to life if fallen in battle or accident after a long communion with both The Gravedigger and The Librarian. A couple of undead have been created, but under close watch of the whole council.  It still works as a morgue and the bodies are delivered to their family after just one day and no funny business goes on with them. In the beginning, they used homeless people's bodies, but since there are no more homeless in Bidbirat due to the thriving economy of the island and its ruler goal of achieving equality, now only bodies donated to science in life are experimented on.
