The chaos in the Prussen city of Chekov, now known as the Folly of Chekov was a eruption of religious violence in response to the killing of notable Arterium preacher Tomáš Beneš in the city. The result was four days that would spark a diplomatic crisis, that would lead to war.

Chekov for centuries had been a centre of free thinking, hidden in the Sudetens away from the powerbases of the various Heavenly Emperors or Cromstates of Prussen, even as being officially apart of Prussen, the city and area around it was largely independent.

This lead to the city attracting a large number of radicals, following the Divide of Arterium this meant many extreme religious belief were present in the city. Tensions would, on the 5th Sun of the 13th Altone, spill over, with the death of Tomáš Beneš.

Beneš was attempting to preach in a largely Divisionist sector of the city, little is confirmed about what happened but Beneš was dead on the ground not long afterwards, setting off a wave of anger from the Arterium Loyalists.

This would escalate to effectively rioting, and in the chaos, Eric Von Holzen would be killed, targeted by a mob for his family ties to the Heavenly Emperor Otto Von Holzen. This turned the event from one of many moments of flare-ups, into the spark for war.
