Isle of Norge

Trader's port of Call

Norge is for merchants and traders easily the most famous location in Evantain, and it's wares and products are known around the lands. Being situated in the Northern Seas, the large island is a colder but still hospitable land for those who live there, presenting unique challenges to any would be travelers. Boat is by far the most common form of travel, and inland travel should be avoided if not required. The capital city of the Mark, Arnin is located in the western part of the island, on a large hill on the southern coast, and is the most populated and travelled location in all of Norge, and the Mark.
Henry Norwick, Travellers Guide to Evantian, Press of Wien, Wien, 1705.

Geography

Norge simply put is an island, one of and the biggest of the many islands of the Northern Seas. The island is a mixture of cold stone mountains and dark grasslands, of cliffs and stone beaches, of messy fjords and straight coastlines. Rivers flow with fast cold waters from these moutains, feeding the small sections that can grow crops consistently.   While the cities of Norge are safe, the island at large is quite dangerous, from the cold weather, to more dangerous creatures. A saying in the Mark is that the danger of the rural lands of Norge is the price of freedom. Ice cold storms are common from the far north as well, but these storms tend to be worse on the northern half of the island.

Fauna & Flora

Norge plantlife is grasslands and conifers trees, generally the more open areas are the grasslands while the more sheltered parts contain the forests. To this end, many dangerous animals take shelter in those forest areas, while a few creatures will be found in the more exposed areas, they generally are on the safer side.

Natural Resources

While not as plentiful as the Dithmarburg Lowlands, farming and timber resources are still found in a sufficient quantity. Stone and metal is also found on Norge but most ores/metals are imported from other areas of the Mark. Other than this, really the "natural" resource of Norge that everyone knows is it's manufactories.
