Alsindr

Alsindr, known as the father of mankind, was the first human to exist. He emerged from the North Pole eons ago, given life by an unknown creator for an unknown purpose. He possessed the body of a grown man, tall and pale with white hair and grey eyes, though he had the knowledge of a newborn. He understood very little, spoke no language, and had no concept of the world that he was born into. Little is known about Alsindr, save for that his awakening drew the attention of powerful, malevolent entities originating from a place too far away to fathom. The appearance of these beings triggered something long dormant within Alsindr, something put in place by his creator. A terrible, unquenchable rage overtook Alsindr like a fever, and the world became the stage for the greatest battle in history; with the physical embodiment of human rage waging a one-man war against the beings who had appeared on Ettor.   There was no warning when the first battle occurred, but its repercussions were felt around the world and the collateral damage was immeasurable. The sky was torn like paper before them, mountains crumbled into valleys, rivers became parched, the seas boiled, and soon all of Ettor began to twist into what it had not been as the world was scarred and deformed. Many sentient races whose names are lost to time went extinct or were driven to the fringes of Ettor where they could only hope to take shelter from the calamitous battle. When all but the last, and most powerful of Alsindr's enemies had been slain, the two met in the Matarat Desert one last time.   The force of the killing blow Alsindr dealt to his enemy was so great that it cast the world into a hundred year winter. The flash blinded onlookers for miles as the impact shattered the desert, turning sand to glass and uprooting millions of tons of molten sand into the atmosphere. With the broken carcass of his enemy lying lifeless at the epicenter of the crater, Alsindr finally relaxed for the first time in his short life. Unsure of what life had to offer, he wandered Ettor for centuries, nursing the broken world and what remained of its civilizations back to health, atoning for the destruction he had wrought.   Alsindr was hated by all but the Giants, the only race who understood what Alsindr had done for the world. In his blind rage, he had caused the deaths of billions and the extinction of numerous races, but he had prevented a much more terrible outcome. His hatred for Outsiders had subsided, but was replaced by a deep, and crushing despair. In atonement, he decided to do the only thing he could to pay tribute to the countless dead and end his own life. Alsindr traveled to the north to live among the Giants, the only race left that would accept him. He then divided his own soul into millions of fragments, giving birth to the human race and entrusting their fate to the watchful eye of the Giants.
