Beggars Can't Be Choosers

Plot points/Scenes

  • Party can ask Freddy if he has any work for them
  • After Vildon's Request, Freddy will come to party with a job offer.
    Quest Summary  
  1. Party either finds Freddy or he finds them, regardless Freddy notifies party that Jahida has some work for them if they are interested in paying work.  
  2. After dark Jahida meets with party in a bar to give them details.
  3. After discussing current political situation, Jahida tells them she discovered the artifact is a fake and she needs the party to fix their mistake.
  4. Locating the artifact is the first part. Freddy will come along as DM PC, he has a lead. Gyles has gone dark and they must locate his smuggler contacts to find him. Party may use their contract from Wizard Tower to get access.
  5. Jahida will teleport them to Pleres with this plan in place and give them Door of Teleportation so they can come back quickly.
  6. Freddy and party locate the smuggler and attempt to get information on Gyles' location, if party doesn't have the stomach for it Freddy will do so happily.
  Beginning the Quest Speaking to Freddy under any circumstances will result in him telling party that Jahida needs to speak to them regarding a paying job. Party can meet with Jahida at night in her favourite bar, The Crystal Lane Lounge. She lays out the current political situation. The King Zahir has been in talks with King Aldin who assures he can guarantee his daughter's royal blood. King Zahir is giving him time to contact his ex-advisor, Gyles, to provide this proof out of respect for his predecessor. Jahida is extremely unhappy that her King is giving him this chance. Having The Pleres Sphere was supposed to prevent this sort of negotiation from occurring.
  Jahida has discovered the Sphere the party gave her is fake and asks them to correct their mistake. She needs to make sure this marriage has no chance of going ahead as she fears for her life as a sorcerer, so it's personal to her.     Travelling Jahida will teleport the party to Pleres via spell, Teleport. She gives them Door of Teleportation so they can get back to Qudib.
Jahida is sending Freddy to accompany them as it is such an important mission. She doesn't completely trust the PCs will get it done correctly considering the amount of mistakes they seem to have made in her eyes.     Pleres   PCs can be teleported inside or outside Pleres, care must be taken getting into the city and moving around it with Freddy. PCs need to locate the Sphere, which means finding Gyles. Freddy has done some digging in the past week and learnt that Gyles has gone dark and fled the city, probably with the help of his smuggling friends. Freddy is familiar with the general area the smugglers tend to hang out in Pleres and lead the PCs to a few taverns in the backstreets.
  PCs will need to find Gyles' smuggling contact to proceed. Party can use their letter of introduction from Wizard Tower to gain access and speak with him. Once they find smuggler PCs can use any method they like to get the information they need. If party don't want to use certain methods or take too long Freddy will step in and use his own brand of question asking on the poor smuggler in plain view of the party.     Finishing Up   Once PCs have gained the amount of information they need it is time to proceed to Kelna which is just a few hours beyond the mountain pass to the west. If PCs need to do anything in Pleres this will be their last chance to for a while.
