Warlock Carthaphilus Sedemode (a.k.a. The Cunning Reaper)

His name is Carthaphylus an influential alchemist of the free city of Artis. He spent most of his time perfecting his creation and complex concoctions with the occasional venture in the wilds for rare ingredients, but his insatiable thirst for the knowledge led him to increasingly dangerous places leading to the destruction of his physical body from a godlike entity.

Personal history

I was born in a rather elevated family with enough gold to sustain a comfortable living. My house was in the higher district of the city, a bit too crowded for my taste. My family was all comprised of artistic types from painters to poets all with their tastes and sensibilities, they were all good people, but they seemed more interested in false stories of mighty figures and ideal perfections of gods and goddesses instead of the real and living world we inhabit so alas I wanted to break from this cacophony of art and so I dedicated my better half of a childhood to the study of alchemy and philosophy. I would discover the real world than make my own, learn the truth, all that should be known and shouldn't.
I have been many times criticized by the faithful and uncultured that my creations are an affront to "the almighty" himself. They can say what they want but I only feel envy and animosity from them. They fear me so they seek to destroy me. Such simple creatures, maybe they need the guidance of a deity.
Oh, great news my research has lead me to a point of great interest around the mountainside of Taer Mohren. It is said that a great ancient ruin lies beneath this pile of rocks maybe my search will finish sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately dear reader my advancement has been subdued by a godly apparition who stole my own body from me. Now I seek revenge from the gods themselves. Those selfish fiends wanted to stop me.
