A strange metal that creates sparks easy, blast metal or magnesium is a reflective shiny metal that when struck correctly or subject to open flame, it creates a burst of bright, hot flame. Though not commonly used in smithing, it is used to make various forms of instant torches and ammunition.

  • Ammunition made of this material can be shot double the distance than normal, but attacks with the ammo has disadvantage to hit.

  • When exposed to open flame, the item bursts into flame. Any target that can directly see it must make a Reflex saving throw or be blinded for 3 minutes. Any attack made for the next X minutes deal X d8 fire damage, where X is the amount of magnesium ingots in the item's construction. The item can be extinguished by thrusting it in DRY soil, otherwise it causes an explosion as it reacts with the water within. Once this effect ends, it must make a break item action.
  • Impact Blast (Armor)
  • When exposed to open flame, the armor creates a minor explosion. All targets with 10 ft of the wearer must make a Reflex saving throw or take xd6 force damage and are burned for 1 minute, where X is the amount of magnesium ingots in the item's construction. Any target that can see the wearer must also make the Reflex save or become blinded for 3 minutes.
