Miklas

Epitaphs: The Redeemer, The Saint of Lost Causes, Plague-Breaker

With the loss of the goddess Aurelia, Miklas took on her role as best as she could. Unfortunately, as she does not have the power to act as the new goddess of protection, her aid can only come after the fact. She soothes the tormented, provides succor in times of distress, and gives deliverance from oppression. Prisoners, the sick, the poor, and the destitute all seek her favor, as do clerics who wish to ease the world’s suffering.

Miklas resembles a tall, golden haired human clothed in a radiant white robe, bearing a staff of elderwood whose leaves continually wither and grow back.

P. 190 Grim Hollow Campaign Guide

The Arch Seraph of Mercy, her domain is healing and freedom from suffering. She does not have the power of Aurelia, goddess of protection; she can only offer aid to those already sick, wounded, or in distress. It is said that this new dark age offers no rest for Miklas the Merciful. She is opposed by Tormach, the new Lord of War.

P. 34 Grim Hollow Players Guide

While Miklas herself does the best she can, the word Mercy has taken a turn in recent decades. The followers of Auralia would ward against sickness and cure disease, the followers of Miklas can only hope to stop the spread of plagues in a world with few treatments and fewer cures. Word has spread of the families and rarely the odd hamlet fully wiped out by a follower of Miklas to stop the spread of a plague, birthing the phrase: Mercy Kill.
