Yelfaren Slivlef
Scrollmaster Yelfaren Slivlef (a.k.a. Midnight Cat)
After dropping out of Elhym, Yelfaren lost all support from her family. Which suited her just fine. She was 116 years old and no longer a child. She could find her own way without her father's coin. The man was a stubborn old bastard, anyways. She often wondered if her siblings had gone through similar pain in their youth, but she never dwelled on these thoughts for long. The forest was large, and the world that stretched beyond it even larger! She planned to see it all. Leaving the Eternal Oak Gate made her nervous. She had met other races before but gnomes hardly spoke to her kind, and the ones that did were usually servants with little to no opinion. Stepping into Oakheart was like walking on the moon. She met dwarves, humans and firbolg. They each had stories, families, accents and different styles of clothing. Things that her family had told her were boorish and uncivilized. Yelfaren couldn't get enough of it.
"Why would I spend my whole life in a forest when there are mountains to the north, oceans to the south, and a desert to the west?! Things you say are pointless I have yet to judge for myself. You may wish to stay in the thicket, but I see it as a great waste to spend my thousand years in the same forest!"
She spent the next few years traveling from region to region, learning about different cultures. She especially enjoyed Esnax's coastal cities. The drinks, the people, the atmosphere. She traveled from coast to coast. It wasn't until 50 years later that she decided to return to school. She spent a fair amount of time visiting many of the schools, but she eventually made the same decision she had before. Drop out and move on. None of the schools seemed to fit. They were all ancient and strict, which meant they were boring. She wanted someplace that wasn't so restrictive. A place where magic could grow organically and didn't require hours of reading. That's when she first heard o thef Bomiton Academy of Magic. It was a new, fresh approach to a school of arcane. So she decided to check it out.
The first impression of the school was a bit lackluster. It appeared to be a shoddy tower surrounded by a sea of merchants. The students performed magic in the streets, and the merchants behaved as if the school was actually a town hall. To most people, this was a terrible excuse for a school. The drinking, the lack of control when it came to its students form of study. The other mage schools believed Bomiton should be shut down. Yelfaren loved it.
Surprisingly, Yelfaren was an exceptional teacher. Though her methods were strange compared to her previous professors, the headmaster never corrected her. At Bominton, they believed the journey to achieving something is of little importance. The act of achieving it is all that matters. This freed Yelfaren to explore different approaches to magic.

History
Yelfaren met Dysphoria Brightmist at a young age, young for elves that is. During her stay in Naporia, she had a bit of a wild streak and Dysphoria was apart of that. They met on a boat traveling to Sanlow. They were immediately attracted to each other and spent much of the journey below deck. Once they arrived in Sanlow they spent a great deal of time with each other exploring the city and enjoying what it had to offer. They even lived together for a time in a small house near the sea. Sadly this love was short-lived. Dysphoria always seemed to have a secret that she wouldn't share and eventually this secret took her away. She didn't see Dysphoria again until she returned with a child. A daughter that was the spitting image of her. She asked Yelf to be her godmother and of course, Yelfaren agreed. Granted she proved to be ill-suited for the job.
Energetic and full of life. She is a teacher of the world and is eager to experience new things.
