Military Names (Vicarias)

The practice of taking on a different name, or a vicaria, during your time in the military, to keep your name clean from whatever you may have to do in the line of duty.

Components and tools

Dispelling chant:  “O lord, mine vessel has no further need of me. Please, tear me from his- worthy form and sanctify it once more, cast me deep into my place in the Land of the Lost, where I shall never surface again unless he should need me in thine name again.”

Participants

Soldiers of the Army. The Priesthood of their hometown keeps record of their real and military names.

Observance

Upon entry into the military and graduation from training.
