Augustians are the inhabitants of the western half of Cansanda. They are white, fair haired and average height.

Naming Traditions

Feminine names

Unisex names

Augustian names tend towards having an "Au" at the beginning, sort of as a subtle nod towards Augus. It would be like putting "Jes-" at the beginning of names for christians, for example.

Men must serve in the military. Women must be housewives if they are childbearing.

Gender Ideals

Classic: Men do the work, women keep the houses and raise children. Men serve in the military and in the workforce. A man serves in the military if he can (mandatory military service).

Courtship Ideals

Men hold pretty much all the cards when it comes to which woman they want to marry and whatnot. In fact, a man can place a reservation on a woman he leaves behind when he goes off to war, and if she is caught courting someone else while he's away, there can be serious consequences for her and her suitor.
