Personal history
Viktor is a commanding, charismatic leader with a strong sense of justice for which he will fight tooth and nail. Despite his passion, he is often closed off emotionally, struggling to open up to those around him for any reason. Viktor was born in Patrovia, a newly acquired duchy of Wesse. He was a warm and outgoing child with a passion for music. He was very close to his older brother Igor and his mother Ekaterina. Motivated by money, Viktor’s father sent him away from home at a young age to become a choir boy at a nearby cathedral to the god of the High Faith. There, Viktor became a victim of the abuse of his choirmaster, a trauma which still haunts him and has led him to become an angrier, more hostile version of himself. Following Viktor’s return home, he told his older brother Igor about what had happened to him, leading him to kill the choirmaster in retaliation. Out of fear for what would come of Igor’s actions, Viktor ran, hoping to flee both his family and the horrors of his past. He found a temple dedicated to the Patrovian sun god Svetomir and was taken in by the priests at the temple, living and working there for years. Towards the end of the Wesso-Evonian war, an oracle of the cult had a vision of Viktor endowed with the power of their god to carry out his will. This led to a ritual in which Viktor became the earthly vessel of Svetomir, a conduit through which the god’s power is harnessed. Blessed with this power and knowledge of Svetomir’s will, Viktor became the face of a secret rebellion planned by the High Priest of the Cult of Svetomir. The High Priest planned this rebellion in the name of Svetomir, who is also the god of peace and life, the antithesis to the warmongering Wessian Empire whose recent military actions has led to the death of many. As part of the High Priest’s plan, Viktor was sent to the Wessian capitol of Reiksburg in disguise as a court singer to weaken the Wessian Empire from its center through its royals and nobility. While in the heart of the Empire, Viktor struggles to control and understand his newfound powers as well as his burgeoning love for the husband of the Empress Regent, Prince Hadrian, with whom he initially enters a romantic relationship for information on the highest levels of the Empire’s inner workings. Viktor’s complex feelings for Hadrian, who he initially believes is the same as the cruel and power-hungry people who surround him, leads him to rediscover the side of himself he has buried for so long out of fear of being hurt again. In order to achieve his goal of peace for his people and the world, Viktor must overcome the horrors of his past he has yet to confront while allowing himself to become the vulnerable and kind person he once was.

Viktor has not been very educated. He can barely read Patrovian and cannot write well. What little he did learn, he learned at the Temple of Svetomir.

Growing up, Viktor worked on his family's farm. When he ran away from home, he dedicated his life to Svetomir, working at a temple dedicated to him. During a ritual, he became a vessel for Svetomir, assuming some of his powers and acting as a symbol of the god. He is very important to the cult.

Viktor is very intelligent. He is a very strategic thinker, adept at planning ahead. He can be rational in almost a ruthless way, often allowing it to overtake the emotions of himself and others. When his emotions do overpower his rationality, he can make very impulsive decisions.

Viktor is a pacifist. He has heard about the horrors of war from his parents, especially his father who fought for the Patrovians against the Wessians, and is disgusted by it. Additionally, he belongs to a cult following the Patrovian sun god Svetomir, who is also the god of peace.
