Yanwe

The bridge between realms

Purpose / Function

For many centuries, Yanwe was used as a place to worship Lycilia. While mainly being visited and protected by the Shojorin, most of the Shadowkeepers considerd themselves very much connected it to it as well, most notably the Snowfoxes , which is also why they made up one of the three strongest parties in the great war, siding with the Shojorin against the humans.

Alterations

About 300 years ago the humans living in the Duskvalley mined Solyrium from Yanwe's veins and when they started building Amara, they cut its branches to their needs and carved out many of them, to use them for tunnels, sewers and underground facilities.

Architecture

A giant fossilised tree, now made of a white, marble-like stone with veines of fossilised Solyrium running through ist trunk and branches.

History

Yanwe was once a giant tree that stood in the center of the Duskvalley, then still surrounded by The Eternal Forest. It grew out of the remains of Nocturnis, after they were defeated by Lycilia, creating a bridge between the worlds that sometimes pulled humans from the otherworld into Esterya. The fluid in its veins absorbed the light of sun and moon, and in its blossoms grew the cristals that gave the Dryads their physical bodies. It was also the birthplace of Freya, the mother and leader of the Dryads. After centuries Yanwe slowly fossilised, as well as the fluid in its veins that is now known as the ore " Solyrium ". After the great war the humans build Amara on its crown and mined its ore, which closed this bridge between the worlds completly.
RUINED STRUCTURE
While it had already fossilised long ago, it lost all of its magical properties once the humans started mining Solyrium from its veins and build Amara.
