Greenfinger Almshouse

On the island of Daenthar, the main base of the Greenwatch, is a medium-sized cedar lodge, furnished with beds, and from which emanates the sweet fragrance of various aromatic flowers. It is known as Greenfinger Almshouse, and was so named by its founder, Scatharn Greenfinger. The Almshouse serves as a sort of healing house where members of the Greenwatch can soothe their wounds after dangerous missions and tasks.

Purpose / Function

The healing of the citizens and labourers of Daenthar, and the rehabilitation of those who have suffered grievous wounds, or who have been too long in their care.

Alterations

What once began as a humble hut has over time been given various alterations, such as a small garden and alchemy station for brewing various potions to aid in faster healing, a library where patients can read a book by candlelight while recovering from serious wounds, and a small training field to get patients back in shape with exercise and physical therapy, among other things.

Architecture

The medium sized lodge is built of cedar, with stained glass windows and two fireplaces located in the library and main lobby.

History

Built by Scatharn Greenfinger in 600 AG to serve as his home on Daenthar, he quickly took in all the wounded who came to him and in time turned it into a small refuge for the wounded. Shortly before his passing, he asked his son to turn his home into an almshouse/refuge for the wounded.

Tourism

Due to the secretive nature of Daenthar, tourism is a ridiculous concept among its citizens and the same is true of this place. However, a curious adventurer who wishes to browse the library books or otherwise look around and study the place will be tolerated as long as they are respectful and mindful of the staff and other patients.
