Nandōjō

Nandōjō is a legendary fortification located near the mouth of the Sendō River, where the mountains come close to the sea in Bushū to guard the southern flank of Kōkoku, the land of the High Elves. Built during the reign of the Elvenking, the fortress served as a major military stronghold for the High Elves during the First Age and was rebuilt during the Second Age   Nandōjō was constructed in the late 8th century of the First Age by a master architect from the court of Shōryū. Legend has it that the architect used a combination of powerful magic and the finest craftsmanship to raise the seven towers of the fortress in just a single night. Each of the seven towers was made of a sturdy white marble, and was said to be a work of art, with intricate carvings and sculptures.   The main tower of the fortress was known as the Tower of the Rising Sun, and it stood at the center of the complex. It held a throne room for Shōryū, and was the tallest structure in the fortress. It was also the largest structure, measuring seven hundred feet high and two hundred feet wide. The other six towers were smaller but no less impressive, and they made a spectacular view when viewed from the sea.   The walls of the fortress were made of soaring stone walls and ramparts, with watchtowers placed strategically at the corners. There was a large open courtyard in the center, for the Elves to train their troops and practice their martial arts. It was also the site of many grand feasts and celebrations.   The Elves garrisoned their troops within the fortress and kept the fortress well-guarded. The Elves were renowned for their skill in battle, and their disciplined troops were a powerful force in the Shōryū Court. The fortress was often referred to as the "Sentinels of the North" for their vigilance in protecting the High Elves from any sort of external threat from the south.   The fortress of Nandōjō served as a powerful symbol of Shōryū and the High Elves and their divine right to rule. For many centuries, the fortress remained a beacon of strength and courage for Ryūshu, and a reminder of their rich heritage. Even today, it remains a symbol of strength and courage for the High Elves, and a reminder of their glorious history.
