The goddess Ninfena shapes the world of Eridania and the people who fill it.

Ninfena, after shaping every corner of the Universe together with her brother Iluminum, decided to dedicate herself to creating something exclusively her own. So she conceived the idea of Eridania, and as a place to put that idea into practice, she chose the center of the Universe.   The goddess was very thorough, and liked to be very involved in what she created. She gently united the globe that would become the planet, and in it shaped every moon, continent, river, lake, sea, mountain and vegetation type alone.   After much work and planning in the world, she finally realized that the world was fit to harbor sentient life. She molded creatures using original ideas that she had long devised along with her brother, but added more extraordinary features to them, putting magic in that world, creating races like elves, centaurs and felidians (the cat people).   After all the sentient races were created, but still dormant, she created the fauna of the planet. Her most magnificent work was the dragons, the winged beasts that populate the mountains of Eridania. She also created the majestic griffins, pegasus, sea serpents, manticore, giant eagles, trolls, chimeras, and of course common animals such as lions, wolves, rhinoceroses, elephants, cats, dogs, birds, cows and chickens among many others.   When she was satisfied, she awoke the new beings and introduced them to the world in which they were born. Ninfena loved all the creatures she had created, and spent many centuries with them. She taught them the written and spoken language, so that they could communicate; taught them to sing; taught them how to grow their food and how to care for animals; taught them the mysterious ways of magic, so that it would help them to understand their world; helped them build their cities and organize their governments; taught them to record the history of the world around them, and told them all she could about how the universe before Eridania had come into existence; she taught them about the changing of seasons, about moons and tides; told them about the ancient spirits she and her brother had created to care for the universe, and how they should respect them. And finally, she taught them, against her will, to fight and create weapons to defend themselves against the forces of darkness that still inhabited the universe.   And then eight thousand and six hundred years had passed, and the goddess was content with what she had created. But something terrible was about to happen.
