The Authenian Archives
Purpose / Function
The purpose of the Authenian Archives is to preserve knowledge, magical items and specimens of otherworldly and supernatural origins. Students from the AAC, often visist to learn arcane different techniques. Even fully experienced mages regularly visist the Archives to research certain areas of knowledge and use powerful artifacts.
Church Paratir has recently started using one of the rooms in the Archives as a prison for several entities he has captured. Using powerful magic, Church Paratir can shrink creatures down and trap them within gems. There are now shelves full of gems containing enraged dragons, fiends and liches.
Architecture
The Authenian Archives is a colossal tower made out of white marble. The walls of the tower are covered with tiny arcane runes, burning blue with magical energy. The windows of the tower have a silver tint to them. The tower is circular in shape and is unnaturally clean.
Defenses
The Archives are protected by numerous magical defences.
Animated suits of armour guard each floor. Each one is armed with a flametongue glaive.
There are many magical runes scattered throughout the Archives, many of them are set to activate when violence breaks out and restrain any assailants.
Asménos is a prototype warforged of incredible physical strength. He has the mind of a child yet is fiercely loyal to Church Paratir. He is used to neutralise any threat with a resistance to magic.
