Senator

There are nine Senators throughout the Authenian Republic, each one of them is the leader of a region. Together they form the Authenian Senate, where they make decisions that with effect the entire Republic.

Appointment

A senator must be elected by the inhabitants of his region, be at least twenty five years old and have no history of commiting crimes. They are inaugurated at a temple of Zeus, as he is the god of rulership. A small ceremony must be doen where the senator swears their loyalty to the Authenian Republic and its citizens before they truly rise to their rank.

Duties

A senator is expected to hold speeches about significant events, communicate with news media and fund public projects. Senators are also expected to appear at many diplomatic events with Venatorian officials.

Responsibilities

Senators are resonsible for the wellbeing of their citizens and the security of their region. They must allocate what collected taxes are used to fund, watch out for any dangers in their region, make certain that their citizens' wellbeing is satisfactory and deal with any other issues their region faces.

Benefits

Senators tend to live in luxury, as they are well paid for their job. They have access to knowledge that is not available to the public, and can order civil servants and military personnel.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A Senator can be removed if they have broken the law or are found guilty of any form of corruption, though this has only happened twelve times throughout history.

Notable Holders

Tyriotrax is the Senator of Zestós, a warm region in the southwest of the Authenian Republic, known for its cultivation of fine wine. Tyriotrax is a Steel Dragon known for his entrepreneurial spirit and his charismatic nature, Tyriotrax has been in the Authenian Senate longer than any other Senator, with over two hundred years in office.
Dimos Solil is the Senator of Arcadia, a temperate forested region in the Authenian Republic, known for the fact that the Authenian Archives is housed within the city. Dimos Solil is a devout follower of Athena who believes that logic and order is the way of the world.
