The Auxiliaries of the Venatorian are feared and despised by their own people, and this fact is especially true about their leader, Antony Maximus.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Antony Maximus has a slim build, pale skin and dark blue eyes. The sides of his head are shaven, with the top left intact, cut relatively short and slightly ruffled. There is a thin, straight scar on his left cheek.

Apparel & Accessories

Antony Maximus wears red studded leather armour with a long black leather coat over it. He wears leather gloves with thick leather strips sown on top to increase their protective potential. He wears a gold badge with a dragon's eye engraved into it, as that is the symbol of the Auxiliary Agency.

Specialized Equipment

Antony Maximus carries a hunting rifle, with a strap attached to it so that he can carry it on his back. He is rather skilled with it, and is fond of using white phosphorus rounds in order to maximize its lethality. He also carries a flintlock pistol as a sidearm, so that he is never caught in-between his rifle's reloads. Attached to his boot is a dagger in a sheath.

Personal history

Born in 1285, Antony Maximus grew up in Venator Coercitor, to a family of whalers. His family was by no means wealthy, but he never hungered and his family home's fire always had fuel. He grew up in a happy family, until in 1297 when his father was killed by pirates from Clan Gansúil while sailing on a whaling vessel. This grief caused his mother to commit suicide, and Antony Maximus was left in the custody of the state.
Antony Maximus grew to appreciate the Venatorian Empire and all that it represented, as without it, he would have surely died. He saw that the Venatorian Empire was all that stood between the decent and civilized people of the west trying to live their lives, and the savages of the Ceilic Region. As soon as he came of age, Antony Maximus joined the Venatorian Legion, seeing it as a way to help defend the Venatorian Empire and maintain the order that saves innocent people from tragedy. Antony Maximus became a Velite, and became incredibly gifted with firearms. He quickly made a name for himself by taking part in several battles against the bandit groups that took hold in the east of Venatorian territory.
After five years in the Venatorian Legion, Antony Maximus left so that he could take a more hands-on approach to dealing with outlaws and traitors within the Empire. In 1308, he joined the Auxiliary Agency. For the next six years, Antony Maximus built up a reputation for dealing with threats to the Empire with incredible lethality and zealotry. He was known to pick off his enemies one by one with his musket, or planting a bag of gunpowder within their encampment and setting it ablaze. As Antony Maximus completed more tasks, his loyalty and reliability became more apparent. In 1314, Antony Maximus became the Head of the Auxiliary Agency. Despite his position as leader, Maximus still insists on going on missions, and has overseen the suppression of many riots and has destroyed any and all attempts at rebellion that he has found. Given his intellect, ability to root out sedition and immense loyalty, Vigilo Angelius has appointed Maximus as his own personal detective, and now any murder of high importance or under suspicious circumstances is under his investigation.

Mental Trauma

The death of his father at the hands of Clan Gansúil has caused Antony Maximus to have an intense and burning hatred to all inhabitants of the Ceilic Region, seeing them as nothing but heretical savages not worthy of mercy or respect. The liberal and chaotic lifestyle of the inhabitants of the Ceilic Region is in opposition to everything that Maximus believes in.

Antony Maximus enjoys society, flaws and all. He believes that a world without order is a world that will consume itself. He believes that as long as there is a place in Eregost that can be considered lawless, then it is a danger to civilization itself.
