Steeple Plateau

The Steeple Plateau are the highlands stretching from the Higharch river to the coast. The Higharch cuts a low jagged cliff known as the Rungs. Although the land is arable the waterways are not navigable due to rapids and falls. The land is filled with canyons, cliffs, and steeple stones. All this makes the territory difficult to traverse. The Kopps, the native peoples of the region are independent and tribal. Between the ferocity of the Kopps and the difficulty of the land, the region was largely ignored by the early Vogelite settlers. But as more settlers moved into the Archlands the Kopps began several high profile raids, including the capturing and sacking of Higharch. This led to the so called Plateau Wars which saw the land subdued. Rebellions and marauder still break out from time to time. The region borders independent Kingdom of Hoash.   Kekok- White goat on brown. Kekok is more of a glorified village than true city. Kekok was elevated to the High Seat mostly due to its central location. Kekok was a Kopp village before being conquered by the Vogelites and their is still much resentment toward the ruling house.   Lohaz- Gold Wyvern on white. Lohaz was a prominent city in the Rananin Province sitting on the Yor river. It was a major trade center for goods coming up from the Steeple Plateau. When the region was made a province Lohaz was made part of it. Not only that, but it was placed under a brand new Archseat, kekok. This created much resentment in Lohaz. This resentment became worse after the Steeple rebellions and the Loffel Massacre. This culminated with the bailiff King's War. Lohaz is still the Largest and richest city in the province.   Loffel- Gold Wyvern on brown. Was founded by settlers from Lohaz by a cadet branch of the family. It was one of the first forays of Vogelite into the Steeple Plateau. It was the site of the Loffel Massacre, in which Kopps tribesmen raided the village. Ended expansion into the region for a generation.   Milch- White cow on brown Shoat- Black pig on brown   Felsturm- Brown barn on white   Brotmoff- Two black goats on brown The only major port on the coast of the province.
