The Blessed Races

Era beginning/end

The New Beginning

"The lives we live today are not a gift. They are a calling. We are the blessed ones trusted with the burden to protect the balance and harmony on Erboren. Uncertainty has found its way into our lives but that is no reason to fret. We will overcome any obstacle because it is our purpose." - High Elder Estelon at the 50th United Summit

After the Dragons rebelled against the gods very few escaped the anger of the enraged deities. The ones who escaped went into hiding and isolation. Those who couldn't escape however were given a choice. Either to be stripped of their tremendous god-given power and live bound to the earth they were meant to oversee and protect, or to be slain on the spot. Those who agreed were the foundation of the first "humanoid" race to roam the mortal realm - the Dragonborn. But the gods didn't stop there. To maintain equilibrium on Erboren the gods mutually agreed on the creation of five more races. Each with a blessing of their own and the purpose to protect the peace and prosperity of the new world.   The Dragonborn were the first race, and Wisdom was their merit, the quality which the gods bestowed upon them to ensure they can be the voice to guide the realm of mortals towards a righteous path. The Dwarves were created by the god Tet and as his creations they inherited his strong connection to the land. They were granted unnatural resilience and the gift of Constitution by their patron, in order to be the strong foundation the realm of mortals can be built upon. The Elves descended from the goddess Spiris. As a divine gift they were given Dexterity, in order to inspire the realms of mortals with unseen finesse and grace, and to remind them of their godly heritage. The unconscious creations of Diise - Gnomes, they were a manifest of his creative nature into a physical form. The Gnomes inherited the gift of Intelligence, one that is intended to drive the realm of mortals to always improve. Orcs were created by the God of war Turris. With bodies and minds suitable to be perfect fighting instruments they were bestowed the gift of Strength, to aid mortals in perilous times. And lastly Halflings - easily the most charismatic and lovable of creatures, they always find the best way to live life to the fullest. They were given the gift of Charisma by their creator and patron Egal so that they can remind the other races of the joy that is life.
