Session Report 4
General Summary
After a close call encounter against the millitaurs in the caves near Gladdinggod the group rested and then proceeded to Gormond to turn in their quest to Daimler. The journey to Gormond took roughly 7 hours at a fast pace with Sam Urai being highly observant and not allowing a single surprise attack. As the group neared the town they ran into a band of halflings bards. Kelgac and Zasha approached the halfings who were very friendly and invited them to stay with them because goblins were seen near by. Zasha and Kelgac declined the invitation from the jolly halflings and alerted the rest of the group to continue forward towards Gormond.
Upon approaching the city the group is stopped by the gate guards. The guards charged each member of the group 1 copper to enter and told them which inn may be of their liking. Cambio had very fine taste which led to the group choosing to first go to the Waiting Loaf Tavern. The tavern was well ran and seemed to be a good place to stay for the evening. The group relaxed for awhile, Zasha purchased a room, and Kelgac entered a drinking contest with a random half orc. Kelgac was not able to hold his liquor and lost the bet to pay for his and the half orcs drinks. Kelgac disguised as an elderly human man threw the inn keeper Arlo his bag of doll eyes and left the inn. The entire group attempts to sleep outisde besides Zasha until Kelgac conjures and image of a goblin in the inn alerting the guards. Once the problem is solved the guards tell the group they can not loiter outside.
Cambio by himself decided to try out the Next Donkey across town. There he was greeted by Velkik Morgar the owner of the inn. Velkik was a very spunky dragonborn and agreed to give Cambio a bed in exchange for a night to remember. Cambio agreed but managed to weasel his way out for now and placed the agreement on his machine friend Sam Urai.
The next morning the group proceeded to meet Daimler at the Jaded Elixir to turn in their poison sacs. Daimler then gave the group another task at the same cave as before. This time they were tasked with killing the Drow located there. The group accepted, but soon after Zasha was given a note from a strange cloaked figure telling the group to meet them in the lower level of Pardwell Hold. Upon arrival to the lower level they are met by Verdell Pardwell. Pardwell informs them he is a member of the former royal family that once ruled Gormond. Coming off as very shady and suspect he tells the group he'll pay them each 3 gold pieces to not go back to the Drow cave. Redtail being vocal as ever manages to get Pardwell to pay the group 1 gold piece each upfront.
After meeting Pardwell and taking his gold the group decides to deceive him and venture to the cave anyway. The journey takes a long 14 hours back. As the group entered the cave it was pitch black and most of the group could not see until Zasha cast light. From there a vicious battle ensued as many Drow attacked the group. In numbers the Drow proved a difficult foe as they nearly killed Cambio and Sam Urai but Zasha saved them again luckily. Once the fighting was done the group was very beaten up but managed to kill all ten of the Drow.
