Randurian Kingdom

Randurian thrives as one of the most economically prosperous kingdoms in Eranthor. Its privileged positions allow for easy land trade with Bretonnia and other southern kingdoms while keeping its connections with the northern ones. Beyond its land roads Randurian has access to the inner sea and the ocean and grows from the trade and flow of currency that happens across its nation. [mind note: Because of this, you can very easily trade with any currency when trading in Randurian]. It connected the north and south of the continent by land. But what makes Randurian a really prosperous kingdom is it's access to the inner sea and the great ocean. As the only kingdom that makes borders with those two coasts, Randurian was able to grow from the trade that happens across Eranthor.   The posture of the kingdom towards magic is what marks its personality the strongest. Although the flexibility towards it changes according to the leaders that sit on the throne of Randurian, all of them admit that magic is far too powerful to be left unseen. Randurian keeps strict control over the spellcasters that roam its land. One cannot wield magic inside the lands of Randurian without a seal of the king's arcanist.   Even though Randurian controls its magic fiercely it holds a school of magic inside its territory. The arcane academy of Tarth Moorda. The academy is not seen with positive eyes among the ignorant population, as they don't understand why the kingdom would wield such nefast power inside its holy borders. However, the casters trained in the academy get their teachings from a military perspective. Mages, sorcerers, and eldritch knights spend their lives in Tarth Moorda training how to apply the arcane into the battlefield and develop a very narrow view of what magic is and its possibilities. Some arcanists from Dalaran say that such ignorance will one day bring ruin towards Randurian.

Structure

The Randurian territory is divided upon 11 dukes that are appointed by the king of Randurian. All the dukedoms currently hold the families appointed by generations ago. However, the king of Randurian reserves the right to reclaim a region within the borders of the kingdom.   The dukes must serve loyal to the king, collaborate with its interest, and fight for its honor. The smaller dukedom from Randurian is Daggerford, at the southern border of the kingdom.   Nobles: Countless noble houses exist within Randurian. They received their titles through honor, economic agreements, military support, or magical or religious intentions.   Council of the king: The king of Randurian will listen to a council of sixteen people. One representative from each dukedom, the high priest from the faith of the seven, one arcanist from the choice of the king, the marshal from the Randurian army, and the high in command of the guards of Ravengard, and the master of coin appointed by the king himself. Those fifteen noblemen account for the official council of the high king.   It is very common for the king of Randurian to appoint several men to attend external meetings and further support the king. These are called the King's ravens and have a very high level of nobility in Randurian, specially in Ravengard.

Public Agenda

King Edmund has allied himself to the church of the seven sigils as a way to connect himself with the population. Edmund truly believes that it is his duty as king and ruler to help the citizens that worship him. Across generations, Randurian became increasingly more intolerant towards magic users and non-humans. This combined with religious fanatism detached the people from the crown, and now the king is seeking ways to strengthen his crown.    One of the actions taken by the king was proclaiming the order of the burning blade as a wing of the church of Randurian. This was a clever way to both please the church, control the wild peasants that were rampaging villages for hosting "witches", and show the population that he cares about them. However, that the king is blind is that this action gave the church military independence, which might be bad for the realm.

History

The Randurian monarchy had its origins in the old city of Salurian, a port city of The Fallen Azorius Empire The City was overlooked and it was affording much of the costs of the Netherilian war against the already fallen Tel'Quessir (phoenix). Nobleman that led the commercial districts of Salurian led a rebellion that dismantled the Netherilian empire inside out. They started by forming a revolutionary group that took the city and renamed it "Save Haven". This city would later be renamed in honor of the first Randurian general Tiberius Ravengard.   Years later this civil war led to the independence of this newly formed country. The Randurian monarchy would be created under the ideals of diversity, and freedom. It has a ruling King, and a body of guild representatives. The Randurian monarchy gave voice to the economically relevant people in the region. This made its economy flourish, but also created an immense social difference.   In Randurian lands it is clear those who are rich, and those who were fooled by its promises of opportunity and inclusion.
