Bourchevan

A port city in eastern Valderia. Bustling with trade but without the glamour and tangled politics of Tourelle, it serves as the conduit of trade, goods and travel coming into Valderia from the eastern seas, where seafarers disembark from larger vessels to the smaller punts and barges that sail Lake Vivaine and onward to the city of Tourelle. Folk in Bourchevan have a semi-friendly rivalry with those in Tourelle, with the former seeing the latter as arrogant schemers and the latter seeing the former as humourless bumpkins. The debate over who is closer to the truth has raged for several centuries.
