Mount Thetikó

Thetikó is a single settlement that is split into two distinct parts and is founf on the Chao Mountain Thetikó.   Firstly is Thetikó Hall is a relatively small but wealthy dwarven hall found under the mountain.   Thetikó Hall is unique among dwarven settlements in that they allow humans to live on the surface of their mountain while the dwarves live underneath it. While all dwarven Halls do often have a nearby city or village this is the only case in which one is on top of the other.   the reasons for this is unclear but is likely due to the dwarves wishing to have better access to the Craftsmen Cults.   Secondly there is the Thetikó village which is built around the entrance to Thetikó Hall and is populated by Humans, most of which are members of Craftsmen Cults however there are also a decent number of Healers in the city

Demographics

there are roughly two dwarves to every human   i.e 200 dwarves and 100 Humans   as in all Dwarven settlements there very few professional craftsmen with the vast majority exchanging responsibilities almost weekly.   while this does mean that there are few skilled craftsmen, most of the Dwarves are capable of acting as miners, builders and soldiers. thus in times of peace the Dwarves have a standing army of a few dozen guards but when needed the dwarves can easily change to a standing army of 200 fully trained infantrymen.   the humans by contrast are primarily craftsmen and healers with a few filling other roles such as merchants and small farmers capable of providinga small amount of basic foodstuffs for the population.   the Village is also home to some 30 Golems who act as permanent guards.

Government

at first glance the two sectors of the population appear to be governed separately by their own leaders, the dwarves as always governed by a council of longbeards and the humans governed by an elected Mayor.   it is when the Council meets that it becomes obvious that the mayor who speaks for one third of the population is only seen as one vote among the eight other votes longbeards have.   while this does not appear fair the Council does view the humans as a necessary part of the village and thus do ensure the safety and overall happiness of the Human inhabitants.

Defences

With Thetikó Hall being primarily a mining settlement there is an abundance of stone around and as a result over time the defenses have become larger and larger.   the Village on the surface is surrounded by a semicircular wall 8 meters high and half again as thick the gatehouse is made of two heavy gates guarded by 4 Golems Each.   the wall itself is 400m long on the inside with each end built into the cliff face.   every decade or so huge scaffolds are built up the cliff face all around the village and teams of dwarves with chisels ensure there is not a single hand hold on the cliff face to be used to climb around the defences.   above the village and above the gate a small ridge has been cut into the cliff, just high enough for a dwarf to walk in upright creating a small overhang so any enemy attempting to rappel down the cliff will be forced to hang from the rope while the dwarves are in a prime position to cut any ropes and allow gravity to do the work.   above the cliff where the ventilation shaft comes out there is a large stone tower built around it to prevent this to be used as an entrance for enemies. this tower is defended by 12 golems only.

Industry & Trade

being found on a Chao Mountain the primary industry of the Dwarves is to mine the metal ores found in the mountain to create Soul Steel which they then sell to the Craftsman Cults in the village outside the hall in exchange for food and wealth.   This is where the industry of Mount Thetikó begins to differ from other dwarven settlements. usually the special soul steel us used to create weapons and armor however in Thetikó the Craftsmen Cults use the steel to experiment with other possible uses. the most famous and what Mount Thetikó is most well known for is the crafting clockwork prosthetic limbs for the wealthy.   while these types of prosthetic limbs have been a specialty of the craftsmen cults for centuries, the versions made from soul steel are capable of giving the user a sense of feeling trough the prosthetic almost as sensitive as though it were a real arm.   polished crystals and gems mined in a Chao Mountain, if placed in an empty eye socket can eventually allow for some sight to return to the user.

Infrastructure

Thetikó Hall like all dwarven halls is a single large open cavern in which the dwarves set up smelters, furnaces and smithys to purify their ores into iron and steel while the slag is kept to refill abandoned mine tunnels to ensure the mountain retains its structural integrity.   smaller rooms branch off from the cavern at ground level to act as living quarters while above other rooms are carved out to act as stores.   the gates of the hall are large and built into a cliff and designed to funnel wind into the hall while shafts in the roof of the hall allow the hot air to escape upwards. as a result the hall has a constant flow of fresh cool air in from the gates and a flow of hot stale air out the shafts.   while dwarves do not make use of sewers, instead choosing to make use of buckets and a nearby cliff to throw the contents thereof, there are small tunnels under the hall built and maintained by dwarven children.   these tunnels were originally made by dwarven children thus are too small even for adult dwarves to enter let alone a human. these tunnels act as drainage for any built up condensation to prevent flooding of the cavern. tunnels follow a gentle downward slope and flow out at the base of the mountain. a further benefit of the tunnels is to allow for heavier gasses to sing through the floor rather than build up in the hall and suffocate the inhabitants.   outside the hall in the village there is a semi circular wall built around the village to act as defenses.   a nearby cliff acts as the means to dispose of waste.

Guilds and Factions

Dwarves act as the primary workforce and common people   Craftsmen Cults each do their own experiments and are known to provide different services   Healing houses help those who receive prosthetics to heal after they are grafted to the body.   A merchant Hall run by the dwarven council allows for trade to enter and leave the village in a controlled manner.   A small number of men harvest Fathers Lash from around the mountain but they are very few
