Faery
These people of Ephemera have broad, gauzy wings. Some of them grow antennae also. They live in housetrees and are slightly shorter on average than humans. The magic of an Ephemeral faery is similar to telekinesis, and can be trained to have a higher range or greater strength.
Basic Information
Anatomy
humanoid in appearance, but a bit smaller with large butterfly wings. Antennae are a dominant trait but useless beyond aesthetic.
Genetics and Reproduction
Faeries come from spores, which are created by the eventual dissipation of a faery elder. They can still pleasure each other for fun, though.
Growth Rate & Stages
Faery spores are activated by water. They then uncurl into a baby faery, and the life of a faery continues in the method of a human, with an average lifespan of 200 years. At some point, faeries dissipate into more spores.
Ecology and Habitats
The forests of Rota, especially the housetrees. They have low stomach capacities and slow metabolisms on average so they consume little plant matter, which promotes a respect for nature within the species.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They consume similar plant matter to most Ephemeral species. Their wings and magic give them faster foraging abilities but their slow metabolism makes them not use up all the food.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Can sense just like a human can, but also has telekinesis that can be trained.
