Chapter 1: The Soul blight

With the Soul Blight getting worse at a worrisome rate, the various rulers of the realms have put aside their differences for the time being in order to attempt to come up with a solution or cure for the Blight. Due to their inability to work together They instead decided to send a delegation to Boshton, the newly minted city state, though not officially recognized. They tasked Bosh and his compatriots with a near impossible task. Travel through the Paths and find a cure for the Soul Blight.   The group set off using a ring of plane shift given to them by the Vestonia delegation. They first traveled to the Path of the Dead. Here they found the gates guarded by the Shade himself who told them he didn't know which god was causing the Soul blight. The party offered to help him as the souls taken from the mortals due to this blight were not finding their way into his realm. He told them he wasn't allowed to intervene with the gods outside of his domain but that a powerful spellcaster might be able to identify where the souls were traveling to. The decided that their best bet would be to first visit the Path of Water since there was a large population of races and ascendants. They found a city on the back of massive island sized leviathan. Getting right to business they found a tavern that someone mentioned an old wizard could be found at. The wizard agreed to help them but he would need certain materials in order to cast the spell to identify where the souls were going. They needed to find a scroll or potion of Greater Identify, A Lapis Lazuli Flower, and the Marble Eye of the Old One.   Choosing what they considered to be the most difficult task first they traveled to the Path of the Arcane to take the Old One's eye.   Arriving on the Arcane Path they found themselves in an empty void with magical charged energy crackling in the distance. Only Ulysses Turlock could magically sense the path and led them along until they came to a lone hut. Inside the hut they met a beholder. After quickly dispatching their foe they paused to rest but were ambushed by a small group of mindflayers. It seemed that the end was near for the group when both Tua and Ulysses fell. The mindflayers attempted to drag them away as prisoners but Bosh fought on and wouldn't give up. Indomitable he shrugged off their attacks and killed one after the other. Ulysses came to as one mindflayer was flying away with him. As he was carrying the ring of Plane shift he used the last charge to go back to the Path of Water.   Bosh defeated the remaining mindflayers and stabilized Tua. After a long rest Ulysses reappeared a changed man only referring to terrible things he had to do for the wizard...   The group traveled on and after some time arrived at a large wizard tower. Inside they found the Old One. After hearing their quest and their reasoning he said that he was not allowed to intervene. But he said that if he happened to forget his eye on the table and if some adventurers were to take it and bring it back later...   With the first item in hand the group decided on their next destination, the Path of Ice to find the Lapis Lazuli flower.
