The Emerald Emperor, or Empress, is the highest position of power in The Verdant Timberlands.

Qualifications

To be the Emerald Emperor or Empress one has to be the firstborn child of the previous Emerald Emperor or Empress

Requirements

The Emerald Emperor must be a Wood Elf or High Elf and take two spouses. The spouses must each be a Wood Elf and High Elf

Appointment

A person is raised to the rank of Emerald Emperor or Empress when the one before them dies, which with them being Elves is a rare occurrence.

Duties

The Emerald Emperor holds the duty of presiding over The Verdant Timberlands and keeping the country free of the control of outside powers.

Access to the treasury of The Verdant Timberlands, power as Head of State

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Emerald Emperor is outfitted with official royal robes and a green emerald crown.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

There are no sources of power within or outside The Verdant Timberlands that can remove The Emerald Emperor from power aside from death or a coup or similar event that would cause people to no longer recognize the Emerald Emperor as Emperor.

Cultural Significance

The Emerald Emperor is a position perceived to be highly prestigious by the Elves of The Verdant Timberlands and equally by the Dwarves of neighboring Marthdin, but citizens of other nations see the position, as well as nobility of the entire country, as pompous and undeserving.
