Black Desert

These desolate ice planes stretch for miles in the unforgivable tundra. The Black Desert is a deadly snowy tundra, home to sub-zero temperatures, disastrous year-round blizzards, frost-bitten abominations, and pitch-black nights. There are no trees and often miles in between hills or signs of life. At the center of the desert protrudes an irregularly large mountain range that can be seen from almost anywhere in the desert. This mountain is said to be the home of several dragons and other powerful beasts. Very little research or exploration has been done in this area due to the danger that comes with it. Most people believe there is nothing to be found in the desert. Occasional parties sponsored by rich merchants and political figures have been sent for recognizance or in hopes of discovery of artifacts or anything of great significance. Nearly all come back with nothing or don't return. A small fishing village borders the southern gulf but past that, very few people ever visit the wasteland. There are remnants of past civilization within the desert but there is no recorded histroy of a known town or city in the planes or moutnains of the Black Desert. There is no record of the desert being anything but an desolate ice field in the time since the Divagation. Some believe the land used to be a flourishing environment teeming with life and the fallout of the Gods left the place forever changed. Many folk tales and superstition surround the dark frigid landscape but its is generally reguarded as a lost cause for civilazation and travel.
The Black Desert holds many creatures that have spent a millennia or more living there and are extremely dangerous.
