General Physical Condition

Pendleton is well within his silver years. He spends most of his time behind a desk or in a bed and does little else aside from that which is required in his daily tasks. As the regent of Kingcardine, that means years of carpal tunnel buildup in his dominant writing hand.

Body Features

A prominent scar across the left side of his face and ear from a failed assassination attempt early in his life. Van Eiss has since kept his public appearances to a minimum and relishes in secluded workdays. Aside from his injury, he is of a slim and somewhat feeble build.

Facial Features

Within the boundaries of Kingcardine, the Van Eiss family is famous for their wondrous and opalescent eyes. A radiant and iridescent sparkle that sits at the pit of their pupils, refracting light in all manner of beauteous colors. 
Pendleton also maintains a thick volume of facial hair around his jawline and upper lip. Rumor has it he leaves his residence four times a week to have it trimmed, cleaned, and conditioned.

Personal history

Born in Kingcardine to his father Wilbur and mother Gretchen Van Eiss, Pendleton was always slated for a life of duty and public service. He was a quiet child who kept to himself, the only son and only heir to the Van Eiss name and all its responsibilities. Those who knew him as a boy recount that he always carried himself with presence and gravitas, never breaking composure for even a second.
In the year Y.E. 1065, his family, as well as many other noble families in the city, was attacked by an unknown group of elven assailants. Though his parents were both killed, he survived and went on to fill their role. He made a name for himself among his contemporaries by completely bucking the trend of public endorsement. Always a shut-in, Pendleton refused to work by appealing to the masses, instead of letting his record speak for itself. As a government figure, his record was impressive: jobs and wage programs that put Cardinians back to work, increases in civil spending that revitalized smaller communities and gave greater emphasis to law enforcement agencies, and a crackdown on low-level crime under his flagship program "Cleaning the Streets".
Though his detractors and critics note Pendleton spends too much of his effort and time on remedying symptoms instead of underlying causes, he remains undeterred in his efforts.
