Khesbedj
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Khesbedj is a deep and very vibrant blue flower with delicate rounded petals and a black centre. They bloom on the ends of long thin stalks, with several rising up from a grassy base.
Biological Traits
Many inhabitants of the upper city assign medicinal value to the Khesbedj flower in some manner or another. Aphrodisiac, cure-all, hangover cure, but none of these have been substantiated in it's raw form. Some Unmau know however that if you boil the petals of the flower into a tea and add sugars to the mixture, you will have a drink that has hallucinogenic properties. Too much of it in a short space of time can be addictive however.
Genetics and Reproduction
The Khesbedj flower reproduces sexually through pollination, usually insects will provide the vector for pollination though it can also be achieved through passive dispersal on the wind if there are great enough numbers of other plants nearby.
Ecology and Habitats
Khesbedj flowers prefer areas with higher relative humidity than the surface, or close proximity to a water source, like most plants they will grow in between the cracks and crevices of the ruins, anchoring themselves to the stones.
