The Eld

The Eld is a vast and mysterious place. It covers the northern region of Amoa and extends north into the untamed hinterlands. Most of the trees are coniferous, but there are seasonal trees as well. Many strange and magical creatures call this forest home. Some local legends theorize that the Eld contains a gateway to the Feywilds themselves, though nobody has found it if it exists; however, many fey creatures have made a home for themselves in these woods, so locals warn adventurers to tread carefully as they head north. 
The fey who inhabit the land are called the spirits of the forest by the local townsfolk. Many treat the fey with a sort of reverence and a pseudo-religious following of naturalism has sprouted among the northern communities. Rangers and druids have been known to seek guidance from these entities. For the most part, they are peaceful and co-exist amicably with the small settlements in the north, but they have been known to possess a strong fury if they perceive a threat. 
The following of these fey creatures has caused some tensions in the south among the holy men and women of the established pantheon of gods. Many believe that the "pagans," as they're called, are corrupting the people and making it harder to enforce their laws in remote settlements.
