Lighting the Sun

Lighting the Sun is a ritual practiced by those who live in the northern regions of Elyria. Typically led by the Church of Helios, wood is gathered from the nearby forested area, and each morning a pyre is lit with small sacrifices of meat to appeal to the sun god for good fortune. It is said that missing a lighting will invite the goddess of winter, Auril, into the community and bring terrible things to the town or city.
