Araxis, the Wings of Doom

Araxis is an ancient being of flames and apocalypse. Every civilization on Elyria, regardless of how small or remote, has told the tale of Araxis and his destructive power. He hasn't been seen since he levelled the once-great city of Myth'Deios, but everyone in all corners of the world waits in fear for the day he decides to return to take back what he sees as his.

Story

The Primordial Dragons roamed the savage lands of Elyria as the sole masters of the world for thousands of years. Araxis was the first of five dragons to crawl out of the celestial egg and onto the shore of the Inner Sea. The histories have recorded him as the King of Dragons, the Ageless One, and the King of Flames. When the mortal races of elves and dwarves began to build their great cities, Araxis heard rumour of treasures mined from the very earth he claimed as his own. He left his lair far to the north to investigate the rumours and saw a great elven city of glass, gold, and marble had been founded above the place where the Primordial Dragons had first emerged. Enraged, he approached the city to demand what these small folk were doing stealing from his earth; however, as he descended towards the city, he was intercepted by two more dragons being ridden by elves.    These dragons seemed to be made of solid gold, and Araxis could see that they were automatons. These elves had made an artificial recreation of the majesty of a true dragon. If they thought they could fight him off with their false dragons they were sorely mistaken. The battle in the sky lasted for less than a minute. Araxis put his full power on display, tearing the gold dragons' limb from limb, causing their riders to fall from the sky. The elves foolishly thought that the dragons were an impenetrable defence, and they were taken off guard. Despite their best efforts, the elven city of Myth'Deios was burned off the face of Elyria, leaving no traces behind. Araxis left a few survivors so that they may go forth and tell the story of Myth'Deios' fall. He warned that he would return one day to claim the lives of the elves and the rest of the mortal races so that they would not steal from the riches in the earth. Since the destruction of Myth'Deios nearly three thousand years ago, he has not been seen or heard from as far as anyone in giving memory can remember, but the world waits in fear for that fated day.

"The King under the Tree is dead and where are his people that dare seek revenge? Salazar, Lord of the Glen has perished, and I have devoured his people like a flame that tears through the forest, and where are his sons that dare challenge me? I kill when and where I wish and none dare resist. I laid low the warriors of Deios and their like is not in the world today. Then I was new to the world and inexperienced. Now I am old and strong, the strongest being to walk the face of this land!" he gloated. "My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!"
