Willowreed/Snitcher Plot--Ashwind

The Shaft Willowreed family employ Saville Snitcher to do their spying for them. If they catch someone doing something, they will use that information any way they can for money or power.   If they see Ashwind Fernleaf communicating with known magic users, they may try to use that information to extract payment from him, or they will tell his dad. His dad is on the brink of disinheriting him as leader of the Fernleaf clan. Ashwind's younger brother, Seashard Fernleaf, would take over instead. He has inherited his Father's hatred of magic, but lacks his wisdom and has a terrible temper. Ashwind fears that if Seashard should take power that he might actually cause outright war between the golden families, which the islands just don't have enough resources to sustain, and which would definitely break up the trade balance which has been so good for the islands.   The group will have to decide what to do about Snitcher...perhaps he can be convinced not to tell, perhaps he can be beaten up, perhaps he can be paid off. Snitcher is deeply cynical and has been hurt many times, so he'll be very suspicious of any overatures of friendship and hard to convince by any motive that does not involve his own enrichment. He knows he has a pretty good deal with the Willowreeds as their spy and is not wanting to possibly risk that by not turning over information which could be importhat to them.

Plot points/Scenes

Snitch will be in the pub on Tuesday night when Ashwind sees the characters. If there are enough of them to cause any notice, he will take note of them . Ashwind will see him and tell the others who he is and what his knowledge of Ashwind meeting with magic users might cost the kingdom.   The party might choose to try to convince him not to tell, or to fight him, or to hope that he won't tell.   If they hope he won't tell, this will add to Ashwind's caginess and he will be less likely to work with the group.   If they beat him up he may still tell, they would have to kill him to stop him.   They might bribe him not to tell, either with money or magic use. He is currently paid 2 gp a week to be in the employ of the Willowreeds; you'd have to pay him more than that to keep him from telling on you.
