Baker Beowulf

Baker Beowulf owns Buns Galore bakery. He is Elvish, of middle years, and seems to be on friendliest terms with the servants from the Shaft Willowreed family. There is nothing anyone can point to about him that is criminal, but there is the thought that the loaves on drops off tend to shrink when baked and that his goods always look a bit better than they taste. There is thought that he might be cutting his flower with something else, trying to eek out a few extra pennies. In truth, that is exactly what he is doing...about 10% of the flour in his goods is chalk, which he justifies as being healthy for those consuming it. And there are times when especially fine looking boules of dough come in and get exchanged for his chalky ones. He figures you have to be a bit smart to make a living in these tough times, and that's what he's up to. He is obsequious before the servants of the Willowreed family, and he tries to emulate their political bent, as long as it seems to be the popular one, which is usually does. He does not do magic himself but would dearly love to have access to someone who could teach him ways to increase his profits even more. The money he makes he spends on gifts for the Willowreed servants and fancy cravats for himself. He seems just a little to pleasant and benign to everyone.
